If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would have my Teachers Pay Teachers store, website, and blog, I would have laughed very loudly and told you there was NO WAY I would have time to do that! However, I am a dreamer and have a husband that encourages me to be more and do more with my resources. I have two daughters that respect the time and space I take to create and share with other teachers. So here we are! Sunshine and Sweetness is the fruition of many years of dreaming, planning, learning, and creating.
Through this blog, I hope to reach teachers who struggle with teaching and lesson ideas, are in search of creative yet curriculum focused resources, need new classroom management ideas, want to enhance classroom connection, or are searching for something that we all need more of —positivity and motivation.
I will be the first to tell you. . . I don’t have all the answers. I will also tell you when it comes to sharing ideas and resources, I’ve always stayed more on the quiet side because I don’t want to push my ideas on anyone or seem like I am “tooting my own horn”.
However, through my 23 years of experience as a classroom teacher, I have seen the many struggles teachers have. I have shared in those same struggles and completely get it!
I also want to learn from YOU—my readers! I hope to create valuable connections so that we can share and collaborate, and establish amazing classrooms that students are excited to come into each day.

Let’s be honest here. . there are just not enough hours in the day to get it ALL into our classroom schedule and routine. I hope to share one time-saving tip or idea each week that hopefully, you can incorporate into your classroom immediately.

Sadly, we don’t have time for “fluff” teaching anymore. Most of us are stretched to get in ALL the curriculum during the school year as it is. I hope to provide you time-saving, curriculum-focused, and ENGAGING resources that you can incorporate into your classroom right away. And. . . your administration can be assured it aligns with the standards you need to teach.
3. Help teachers solve problems within the classroom: organization, discipline, classroom connection, and MORE!
Every day as teachers, we have something unexpected happen that we don’t always have the answers for. I hope to help you solve a few of those problems quickly, so you can get back to teaching and focus on those sweet students.

Through our connections, we can continue to learn, share and engage in incredible ideas used by some of the best classroom teachers across the globe. Hopefully, our connections will lead us to the answers and inspiration that we are searching for in our moments of need.

Through my years of teaching, one thing I have found most valuable is to surround myself with people who encourage me, inspire me, empower me, believe in me, and motivate me to be more and do more. I hope to provide some sort of positive quote, passage, or story each week, that will encourage, inspire, or lift your spirits. This is the “sunshine” of Sunshine and Sweetness.
