Happy February Everyone!! Aren’t you all glad we finished with the LONGEST month of the year–January! Is it just me or does January feel like it’s 75 days long? (Credit to digitalmomblog.com for the meme!)
But we made it!! Now it’s almost time for Valentine’s Day. You either love it or hate it as a teacher. I personally LOVE Valentine’s Week, as we do so many fun and cute activities throughout the week to keep students engaged and learning. All the activities we do are curriculum-focused but FUN and engaging. I use many Valentine’s Day activities to review previously taught skills or to enhance the current unit of study.

Valentine’s Day Math
In 2nd grade in January and February, we focus on time and money in math. We also review graphing and introduce measurement. My students need lots of review and reinforcement on these very important skills. These task cards sets are perfect to use in small groups, or in a math center, or as additional individual practice.
These Valentine’s Day Money Task cards are best printed in color, but can also be printed in black and white as well! The students love the “sweet” Valentine’s day candy and cookie theme!
These Valentine’s Day telling time task cards are perfect for review and practice. The set focuses on telling time to the nearest 5 minutes. Students can use these cards to play a board game OR they can be recorded on a response page. There are lots of fun options for this set of task cards.
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time for some graphing! This adorable set is super engaging for students and is an easy way to incorporate a curriculum-focused activity on Valentine’s Day! This graphing activity uses a tally graph and bar graph AND includes questions for students to answer about the graph.
The final math activity I want to share is Valentine’s Day Measurement activity in which students measure an item in inches, centimeters, or both! A recording sheet is also included.
